 These meetings started in November 2009 and were designed to provide an opportunity for native speakers of English and Spanish (and other languages) to meet and chat informally. They are relaxed social meetings and they take place on Friday evenings (EVERY TWO WEEKS) in Punta Carretas in Montevideo. No reservations are necessary.
Even if your Spanish is still more of a project than a reality, it's still an opportunity to meet Uruguayans (of all ages, but predominantly younger students and professionals) who are trying to learn English. You'll make some new friends and potentially learn a lot...about Spanish, and about some of life's opportunities here in Uruguay.
They have a second floor VIP ROOM with sofas and coffee tables, and it should be more comfortable and with better acoustics than we had at the Atlántico. They have a complete complement of food and drink, pizzas, sandwiches, pasteleria, drinks, coffee, wine, beer, etc.
These meetings are open to all so hope to see you stop by sometime soon.
